So Osmani answered when he was asked in a discussion at the Hudson Institute that if Washington makes any moves in proportion to this agreement either by resurrecting him, in part or entirely, and whether this is also related to the visit of senior State Department official Brendan Hanrahan to Kosovo.
Osmani said more optimistic that Adminsistra Trump's approach to Kosovo will be more than the first few years' agreement.
Well, Washington's agreement has been implemented, but where I see the most potential is to go beyond the Washington Agreement. Our experience with the Trump administration is that they're operational, they do things, so I think there's potential for doing important things, not trivial things, not small things. I'm talking about big things, things that would really contribute to long-term peace, not to quick solutions, long-term peace in the region. And for that reason, we've come to Washington quite often talking with members of the new administration to discuss, first, the potential in our economic relations. And I often say that the potential of a country should not be determined solely by size. So, despite Kosovo being a small country, I think, I think we have some good ideas about how this economic relationship can move forward”, Osmani said.
Osmani said this economic co-operation “could be a force multiplier” for American leadership in the world at a time when there is “this great competition with China, when there are certain industries that are the monopoly of China”.
We must help the United States increase their role in the world economy. And I think this can be done through the help of pro-American countries. And as you know, Kosovo is the most pro-American nation in the world with over 97% of Kosovo's people trusting the United States and their leadership. And it's not just an ideology or ideal that views America as this ideal democracy. It's a living experience. We've seen how America works, we've seen what America is capable of.” /Periscope/
