Republika President Vjosa Osmani, while standing in the United States for official visit, has met senior American officials and participated in discussions. During a discussion he had at Hudson Institute in Washington, Osmani said it was Donald Trump's personal commitment to halting a Serbia's bid to cause tensions on the border with Kosovo, praising the US role in maintaining peace.
Osmani, during this discussion, has been talking about the institutional crisis in Kosovo that has been caused for many months now, warning that the Constitutional Court for Explains about the non-compliance of the Assembly by 26 July, when the completion of the term set by the Constitution is set. A planned passage for Serbia to do at the Kosovo border has been prevented by United States President Donald Trump.
So has Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani said for the second time, while standing for an official visit to the US.
At a discussion at Hudson Institute Osmani has stated that President Trump has stopped the evacuation at the Kosovo- Serbia
President Trump has said it has prevented a tension, prevented a transition, what Serbia was trying to do on the border with Kosovo. But it was his personal commitment and role that prevented him from being a real leader in preserving peace. Because peace, as we all know from the war in Ukraine, should never be taken for granted. It is something to be constantly protected, constantly to be cultivated. And the role of the United States in this effort is essential. It is necessary and irreplaceable”, Osmani, president of Kosovo Osman, said during this discussion, has also spoken of the Washington Agreement reached in September 2020, saying this agreement has been implemented.
The Washington Agreement has been implemented, but where I see the most potential is going beyond the Washington Agreement. Our experience with the Trump administration is that they're operational, they do things, so I think there's potential for doing important things, not trivial things, not small things. I'm talking about big things, things that would really contribute to long-term peace, not to quick solutions, long-term peace in the region...”
The Constitutional's recent bias has not clarified the consequences enough, unless the Assembly is constitutionalised until 26 July, what the country's president said would be addressed again by the Constitutional Court with particular questions about this institutional blockade.
In our constitution, when we drafted it, it was impossible to predict any single scenario. It was designed in a way with a positive opinion that lawmakers would cooperate, rather than blocking each other and the institution. So, for now, because of a lack of constitutional clarity, if I can call it that, parliament has not been constitutionalised. But we had a new case at the Constitutional Court, and the court has clarified that there is this 30-day strict deadline, which will expire on 26 July for the Parliament Constitution. But it did not clarify the legal consequences of disrespecting that mandatory constitutional term. So it seems that I will have to address the court again and ask them that particular question, and I hope they will answer”, Osmani said.
During this discussion, however, she has expressed optimism about overcoming this political stalemate, until she has said that the non-compliance of the Parliament is bringing harm to Kosovo and its citizens. /Periscope/
