Discussing why Kosovo should be a member of the Alliance, Osmani said it would enable American President Donald Trump, along with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, reports Express.
Kosovo's “NATO membership is not as complex as Ukraine's membership is simpler than Ukraine's in the sense that the US should say this should happen because it is the biggest and strongest ally of NATO”
For the current NATO secretary, Osmani said that “is very much in sync with the US president, and if this pair wants this to happen they can convince the five non-recognitional states”.
Osmani said more efforts would be needed with Spain, Romania and Slovakia, while for Greece he said that he was never a blocker in relation to Kosovo.
She said that Kosovo's membership should be done for strategic purposes as well, but also if viewed by the economic perspective.
You will have another member contributing. A member who will immediately increase [protection efforts] to 5% [of GDP]. And that's what I think is in the interest of all states”
