Macron declared today that France will officially recognise Palestine in September as part of an initiative in the United Nations.
It is necessary to build the state of Palestine, ensure its sustainability and to enable it, by accepting Israel's full deilitarisation and recognition, to contribute to the security of all in the Middle East. There is no other option. The French people want peace in the Middle East”, he declared.
By contrast, more than 140 United Nations member states (from a total of 193 member states) have been recognized by the state of Palestine until now.
