Netanyah has reaffirmed his commitment to the release of Israeli hostages and the complete destruction of Hamas' military and governing capacities.
“Gaza must have a different future, for our sake, for the sake of all”, he has said, underlining that the military campaign will continue.
This was Netanyah's third visit to the White House this year, and the main focus of the discussions was Israel's fight against Hamas, as well as the role that the US can play to lead to a resolution of the conflict.
In statements to the media, the two leaders have expressed optimism about the results of their co-operation, especially about the common attitudes towards Iran, which they think could open a new chapter in the Middle East.
“Coordination between an American president and an Israeli prime minister has been unmatched”, Netanyah added, praising Trump's support.
According to the Israeli Prime Minister's Office, Netanyyahu and Trump are expected to meet again within the same day to continue discussions./Periscopi/
