Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Wednesday that his meeting with US President Donald Trump focused on the efforts to release the hostages in Gaza, as well as his determination to re-launch the “military and government capabilities of Hamas.
Netanyahu added that they also discussed the consequences and possibilities stemming from the big “benefit to Iran”, during his third visit to the US since the beginning of Trump's second mandate on January 20th.
Tuesday's meeting was the second in two days, at a time when the American Middle East mediator suggested Israel and Hamas are approaching a ceasefire agreement after nearly two years of war.
Meanwhile, a delegation from Qatar who welcomes indirect talks between Israel and Hamas met with senior White House officials before Netanyah's arrival, according to Axios. The White House did not immediately comment on the report. /Periscopi/
