The case has developed with closed doors to the public due to high sensitivity of the issue and protection of the injured.
The court has found that the testimony of the injured and witnesses, including those read during the trial, has been consistent and interrelated with each other.
According to the decision, Derjan has been identified by the injured as responsible for committing acts of violence against victims during the time he acted in Syria and Iraq. The court has confirmed that these acts constitute serious violations of the Geneva Convention and international law.
The court's ruling is based on the evidence presented, where it has been found that the accused has committed crimes that conflict with international humanitarian law norms.
We remember that the Pristina Constitutional Court in January 2019 had pronounced it a five-year prison sentence for criminal acts linked to terrorism.
