A planned physical clash between two youth groups has been prevented by Kosovo Police in South Mitrovica. As a result of the rapid reaction, 15 suspected persons have been arrested.
According to the official announcement, police units at the South Station have acted effectively after accepting operational information for a possible conflict. Police have identified and located the two groups at two different locations, managing to bring the situation under control before the clash took place.
The suspects have been escorted to the police station and are being interviewed in the presence of parents and representatives of the Centre for Social Affairs. Investigations are continuing in close co-operation with the State Prosecutor.
Kosovo police have thanked citizens for their co-operation and have renewed commitment to maintaining order and public safety.
