Through a Facebook report, The GDP has said that over the past few months, oppositions from Serbia have increased alarmingly for over 11.8%, and according to them this has come after the government's decision to lift restrictive measures against Serbian goods.
“This development is the result of lifting restrictive measures against Serbian goods, the decision made by the Government of Kosovo without even a condition in October last year under pressure from the Serbian and international factor. The consequences are already evident: products “Made in Kosovo” are being replaced by Serbian ones on shelves, on markets and on our tables.
This situation is not just a market issue. It is a matter of dignity and self - determination. An economy that allows the dominance of a state that still does not recognise our independence is an economy that risks falling depending on a trade structure without reciprocity and without clear defence criteria.
Ironically, those who once protested against Serbia's “manus and against free trade with the state that denies the Republic of Kosovo today are silent, even facilitating the mass entry of these” goods, said in response.

Kosovo is facing a dangerous turn back in economic and political terms. Imports from Serbia have been alarmingly up from 50.64m euros in the first quarter of 2024 to 110.53m euros for the same period in 2025. This increase of over 11.8% is not just an economic statistics, but a clear signal of the aggressive return of Serbian products to our market and the collapse of local producers.

GDP urgently requires civic and institutional awareness:
Consult local products!
Support our economy, our producer and our independence!
Kosovo cannot build a stable future on importing another's economic identity. We have to choose between a free market and a free state. We can't have both if we don't set equal rules and the will to implement them, results in reactions of the Kosovo Alliance of Business. - KB.
