Every year in Kosovo about 60 cases of mountain disease in children

Each year there are between 55 and 60 new cases of malignant diseases in children, the director of the Pediatrics Clinic at QKUK, Violeta Gracevci-Uka, announced.

Graichev -Uka said the capacities they possess are enough to treat these cases.

The number of new cases reported during a year with age- among pediatric ills somewhere varies between 55 or 60 new cases a year. Most of us have acute leukemia, especially acute lymphoblastic leukemia, we have lymphomates, brain tumors, solid tumors, bone tumors. They're a broad pathology of malignant diseases that are presented at the Clinic of Pediatrics. We the capacities we possess are enough to handle these cases. The hematology department owns 19 beds. In addition to addressing cases of malaria, there are also hematological cases, such as blood diseases, such as anemitism, thrombocititis, hemophilia, but along with these diseases, we also deal with oncological cases and capacities are sufficient, even infrastructure, but also on rewarding material, and in most cases we have very good results”, she said.

This disease knows no age, so it affects all pediatric ages. But the most frequent age is pre-school age, and hopefully they have a better prognosis, compared to the ages under two years and over 12 years, when the prognosis may be heavier because of age, but even in those cases we have very good results in treating malaria”, she added to EO.

Gracevci-Uka points out the importance of early diagnosis and calls on parents to be cautious in case of certain signs./Periscopi/
