Council for the Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms ( KMDLNY has reacted to the tragic death of two construction workers in Gjakova who lost their lives after falling from the second floor of a building under construction.
KMDLNj expresses condolences for the victims' families and requires urgent investigation into the accident's circumstances.
In its response, KMDLNj criticises the government for failing to act and systematic neglect on dangerous working conditions, lack of protective equipment and failure to operate the Labour Inspectorate. According to KMDLNj, the government is ignoring trade unions and is not taking measures to prevent loss of lives in the workplace.
“KMDLNj will support any protest of workers demanding safer conditions, because the right to life is basic human right,” said in response. /Periscope/
