Kosovo Liberation Army Veterans Organisation ( The KLA's OVL has reacted with deep indignation to a information published in the media, under which a former prison guard at The Hague, which had supervised Hashim Thaci during his detention, has been recruited as prosecutor in the Specialised Prosecutor's Office and is participating in the judicial process against former KLA officials.
According to the OVL, this development “scandalous” questions the integrity of the Specialised Chambers and casts heavy shadow on the impartiality and legality of the whole process.
“How can an individual with direct contact history and surveillance of the accused suddenly advance into the position of a prosecutor? ”, asks the KLA's OVL, describing this as a lighthouse built on hate and political orders.
According to the reaction, this action “s eventually -- ” process from any form of impartiality and confirms, according to them -- that it is a political chase organised against the Kosovo Liberation Army.
The organisation calls on public opinion, civil society and international institutions not to remain silent in the face of what they call “serious risks for the foundations of international justice”.
This is no longer justice. This is a mounted injustice, trying to rewrite our glorious story of liberation,” completes OVL's response.
