In a Facebook report, KFOR has added that the search on Ujman's lake for the 33-year-old body will take place until KFOR troops provide security throughout the operation.
Full announcement:
Today, on July 29th 2025, the commander of the NATO-led KFOR mission, Major General Enrico Bardoni, authorised the Kosovo Security Force (FSK) to deploy research teams- Rescue (SAR) in the Wyman/Gazioda lake area.
The authorisation, based on humanitarian reasons, has been granted in full compliance with the prerogates and authorities of KFOR Commander, to maximize continued efforts to locate and recover a 33-year-old man allegedly drowned in the lake several days ago. It is conditional on specific requirements and warnings set by KFOR, which will also provide security throughout the operation.
The use of KSF's Research-Peace Teams falls under the original KSF mandate, which includes support for local communities in response to natural disasters, through search-saving operations.
Meanwhile, KFOR continues to implement its mandate based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 to contribute to a secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement at any time and impartially. KFOR works in close co-ordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union's Mission for Law Rule in Kosovo (EULEX), in their respective roles as security responders.
VV comes out. These are some of the cases when KSF went north.
