(a year ago)The court hearings at the Special Court in The Hague have been launched, where the decision concerning the former KLA leaders' motion to bring down certain parts of the indictment for alleged war crimes is expected to be disclosed. They had until June 12th to hand over the motion to drop the charges. The Specialised Prosecutor's Office, meanwhile, had time to respond until 7 July.
The decision on the motion to be made public today is also expected to determine the course of continuing this judicial process.
Thaci, Veselin, Krasniqi and Selimi are in custody in The Hague from November 2020, charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity, in a prolonged and highly criticised process.
