Kamberi in a Facebook post has said the resolution aims to recognise Serbia's Assembly and accept the discriminatory position of Albanians in the Valley, with a request for expressing institutional commitment to improve the position of the Albanian community in the municipalities of Presevo, Meddja.
In parliamentary procedure, today, I have handed over REZOLUTIONS TO THE SHIPAR POS IN THE PREVAY HAPPINESS. The resolution aims for the People's Assembly of the Republic of Serbia to recognise and accept the discriminatory position with the requirement for expressing institutional commitment to improve the position of the Albanian community in the municipalities of Presevo, Bujanoc and Medvedja, in line with international obligations and obligations that bring about the EU integration process and internal legislation. The need for this resolution arises from a long state of disregard for the demands and rights of Albanians in this region, which has brought serious consequences to community social and political life”, Kamberi wrote on Facebook.
He has said that among the most pronounced problems are the practice of arbitrary addressing, non-recognition of diplomas issued by the Republic of Kosovo, lack of fair and proportional representation in state institutions, obstacles to the official use of Albanian and national symbols, and the region's economic development.
With the proposed resolution called for the break-up of address equipment practices, implementation of signed agreements, as well as implementation of legal provisions guaranteeing language and educational rights.
“Through this resolution, call for: Implementation of agreements signed in 2001, 2009 and 2013; Cutting off administrative practices of arbitrary stimuli leading to loss of civic rights; Full implementation of legal provisions guaranteeing language and educational rights; The institutional and proportional representation of Albanians in state and public institutions; For state bodies to initiate detention procedures of all those who use hate language against Albanians; The creation of development funds with state and international support” has written Camberi.
He also added that with the resolution, it requires the creation of a parliamentary body, with OSCE participation, the civil sector and Albanian representatives, which will have duty to investigate all cases of visits. It has also been proposed that the issue of the position of Albanians in the Presevo Valley be included in Kosovo dialogue -- Serbia.
The “Since efforts so far have not produced the promised results, the issue of the position of Albanians in the Presevo Valley is proposed to be included in the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia as part of efforts for lasting peace. Adoption of this resolution would serve as a sign of the political will to address past challenges and ensure equality for all citizens, regardless of ethnic affiliation, which is the precondition for democratic development and progress towards European integration”, Kamberi said.
He has thanked SDA-Sanjak deputies Ahmedin Shkriel and Minela Kalender for supporting the resolution to be processed in parliamentary procedure. /Periscope/
