At midnight, the signal will go off, and with it the entire program.
The Doha Media Network Al Jazeera also made a previous announcement about the closure of Al Jazeera Balkans.
The decision is part of a broader strategy to strengthen its digital presence and expand to new media platforms, ensuring that Al Jazeera remains a leader in a fast-growing media landscape.
“Since its opening, the channel has played a key role in reporting from the Balkans, presenting the diversity of multiethnic journalism and stories echoing across the region. Al Jazeera expresses her deepest gratitude for management, journalists, staff, partners and faithful viewers in the Balkans for their support and confidence. As the Network launches a journey to expand its digital trace, Al Jazeera confirms that it will remain committed to reporting on the Balkans and the region on other platforms”, they said, Express broadcast Periscopi.
Al Jazeera Balkans CEO Edem Foco spoke earlier at Klx Studio about closing the television station.
“Every year, when the budget is drafted in May, they think they can keep Al Jazeera Balkans. We somehow managed to survive. This year, the situation is such that it was no longer an option. On the other hand, as far as employees are concerned, we are friends and family members, we did not want to decide in a situation where they knew it was being closed until negotiations with Doha” ended, Foco said earlier, adding that all employees would work until the end of August. /Periscope/
