We stand by our request that we think is reasonable for the position of Speaker of the Parliament. We got the votes. If Fatmir Limaj's name is proposed, then on Monday it could be dedicated to Parliament”, Izmak told Radio Free Europe.
According to her, so far there is no clear signal from the Vetevendosje Movement that an agreement can be reached with the Social Democrat Initiative, but “exists a positive environment”.
But I can't tell you what decision-making will be. The situation is unpredictable”, she said among other things.
Earlier in the day, Limaj has also met with Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani.
This meeting comes on the eve of completing the constitutional deadline set with the Constitutional Court Act in the case of KO124/25, which obliges MPs to constitute the Assembly within 30 days, namely until July 26th”, is said in a communiqué issued by the Presidency.
The Constitutional Court has set July 26th as the deadline for the dedication, but it has offered no more details as to what happens away if the parties do not agree by then.
Osmani has warned that he will address the Constitutional Court in the coming week, if the Kosovo Assembly is not constitutionalised within these days.
The situation has been blocked after the Democratic Party of Kosovo, the Democratic League of Kosovo, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and the Serbian List refuse to propose by a candidate for forming a secret voting commission, arguing that the way the voting change is changed by the head of the Avni Dehari session is unconstitutional.
The Vetevendosje movement requires that Albulen Haxhiun éproposed for the top parliament officer be voted only once through the secret vote, and if he does not secure the 61 votes needed, it will withdraw from the race.
It has not secured the necessary votes in several successive sessions that have been held by an open vote. For some parties, it is a divisive and unacceptable figure.
Members of civil society have protested in front of the Parliament building several times by calling MPs to responsibility.
Who has how many votes?
In the Kosovo Assembly with 120 seats, 61 votes are needed to successfully vote on the vice-president's new name.
The Vetevendosje Movement, like the winner of the most votes in the February 9th elections, has 48 seats in the Assembly, followed by the Democratic Party of Kosovo with 24, the Democratic League of Kosovo with 20, the Serbian List ʹ the largest party of Serbs in Kosovo with 9 and the coalition between the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and the Social Democrat Initiative, with eight. Another 11 seats are minority.
Only the Social Democrat Initiative has three deputies in the Assembly. In addition to Limaj, this party is represented by Xhevahire Izak and Arberesh Kryeziu.
Acting Minister of Management and Local Power and Chairman of the new Democratic Initiative of Kosovo (IRDK), Elbert Krasniqi, It's been signaled before. that seven non-Serb minority deputies would vote for the new Parliament's constitutionalisation and a new government led by the Vetevendosje Movement.
In a scenario when the Vetevendosje Movement, the deputies of the Initiative and seven minorities would vote for the constitution's constitutionalisation, would need three votes for finalising the process successfully.
So far, minority deputies Duda Balje, Veton Berisha and Adem Hoxha have declared they do not provide support without their conditions being met.
