Israel believes Iran can recover rich uranium under one of three targets hit by American forces last month, according to a senior Israeli official.
The official told American journalists that achieving rich uranium in Isfahan would be extremely difficult, and any effort would trigger new Israeli attacks.
US President Donald Trump has repeatedly confirmed that US air and missile attacks on Iran in June “destroyed the country's” nuclear facilities, even though some US intelligence agencies have taken a more cautious approach, reports the report. BBC, broadcast Periscope.
Iran denies it seeks to develop nuclear weapons and says enriching uranium is for peaceful purposes.
The senior Israeli official, who refused to identify himself, said at a press conference in Washington that intelligence showed that much of Iran's enriched uranium was in Isfahan, which was hit by submarine-propelled rockets during the “Operation Middle Hammer” on 22 June.
However, the official expressed no concern over the assessment, noting that any Iranian efforts to recover the material would probably be revealed.
According to the official, Israel's assessment is that Iran's nuclear programme has been back two years.
Trump and members of his administration have been convinced that Iranian nuclear facilities were completely destroyed. /Periscope/
