According to The Times of Israel, there has not yet been any confirmation from the Syrian army concerning reports of such an attack, yet Israeli Channel 12 has reported, saying Israeli forces have carried out air strikes in Damascus, hitting key government buildings, including the Presidential Palace, Syrian Army General Staff and the Ministry of Defence.
We remember that Israel launched attacks Tuesday on Syrian government forces in the predominantly woody region of Sweida, saying it was acting in defense of the minority after Damascus had sent troops there to take control of the bloody clashes between wood fighters and Bedouin tribes.
Israel has intervened in combat by attacking the Syrian military forces and demanding that they withdraw from the inhabited wooded area. And this ongoing situation and has left over 200 casualties has raised concerns about the possibility of further escalation in the country.
