In a statement Saturday, the Israeli Protection Forces (IDF) said they had allowed the resumption of humanitarian aid air shipments, the first of which consisted of seven flour, sugar and canned food provided by international organisations, reports the BBC, broadcast Klankosova.tv.
The announcement came amid calls for Israel to allow more assistance in Gaza and amid warnings of massive hunger after months of limited supply for the two million residents of the territory.
Israel denied what it called a false “description of deliberate hunger in the Gaza Strip”. /Periscope
