According to official data at 2:00 a.m. from the Kosovo Hydrometeorology Institute, the highest value recorded today was in Han, Elez, where the thermometer reached 42.4 °C at 1: 00 p.m., making this day the hottest ever measured by the state meteorological network.
Besides Elez Khan, extreme temperatures have been recorded in Kamenice (41.6°C), Gjilan (41.2°C), Kline (41.1°C), Rahovec (41.1°C), Leposaviq (41.3°C), Gjakova (41.7°C), Komoran (40.8°C), Skenderaj (40.3°C), Mitrovica (40.5°C), Pristina (40.2°C), and Istog <10>.
Most of the country's municipalities have passed the 39 °C threshold, with several mountainous areas like Brody and Brezovica remaining cooler, with 23.4 °C and 32.0 °C, respectively.
The Hydromethorological Institute has described this as the hottest <x0 days recorded so far”, appealing for increased health care, avoiding exposure to the sun in peak hours, constant hydration, and preserving children and seniors from extreme temperatures.
