Vetevendosje Movement MP Albulen Haxhiu has denied that her candidacy for Kosovo Assembly Speaker has failed 54 times. She has stressed in an interview that her name has been put to the polls only six times.
My name has failed to open six times. So it's very important. It's not true that my name is installed 54 times. My name is set six times and 46 more have been for the secret vote procedure”, Hadziu has declared Radio Dukajini as he commented on the stalemate in Kosovo.
On Sunday, July 27th, the interim move imposed by the Constitutional Court, which prevents elected MPs from taking every step towards forming the new legislature by August 8th. The move comes as a result of the 30-day deadline expired on 26 July, within which the new Kosovo Assembly should be formed.
The Constitutional Court is expected to show in the coming days what the legal consequences for elected MPs will be for February this year and what should happen further in this unusual situation that is of great importance to the country's institutional future.
We will respect the Constitutional Court's decision. Everyone has an obligation to respect the court's decision. We are in a situation where the Constitutional Court can lead the country to extraordinary elections”, it has underlined, adding that the Vetevendosje Movement is making preparations for the autumn local elections. /Periscope/
