Former deputy chairman of the KLA War Veterans' Organisation, Nasim Haradinaj, has spoken after the Special Court's decision in The Hague to bring down the former KLA leaders' defence motion, allowing the trial to continue.
Haradinaj has called this process “a mockery of the entire Albanian people”, while accusing the court of a political mission that, according to him, aims to condemn alone KLA.
This jury is not in vain. He's got a mission to come up with a KLA sentence, nameless. U n CK is a political mission, simply,” said Haradinaj on the FIVE show.
He predicted that if Thaci and the others were convicted, they could face far more severe sentences than others who have so far been sentenced by the Special.
If these are convicted, you think they'll take the maximum 15 years is the wrong idea. These can take 30 years to life. Then the next court could lower it to 30 years”, he said.
According to Haradinaj, the final goal of this process is to establish a false equality between the KLA and the Serbian occupant.
They're trying to punish our war. They're trying to connect us to the Occupator. And if they want to find out what we have, they all regret it. Even those who think they'll win if they get punished, Haradinaj said.
