Today, along with friends and fellow countrymen, we were present at the Special Court hearing, where with an unfair and arbitrary decision, the defence motion for the release of Kosovo Liberation Army leaders was dropped, leaving all charges in force.
This is not justice. This is a serious injustice that is being done to our righteous struggle for freedom. It is a decision that is more like political retaliation than with a fair judicial process.
Today, Kosovo deliverers, men who led the war for liberation, had to be freed and returned home to their families and the people whom they love and respect. They do not deserve to hold on to bars, they deserve honor and support.
We call on all institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, from the president, the prime minister to the Parliament, to react with the strength and dignity this situation requires. It is not enough to keep silent or formal declarations to have official Kosovo open in support of her children who were sacrificed for the freedom that we enjoy today.
Freedom is not a crime. Our war was, not an invading war, but a struggle for life, dignity, and justice. It is time to be united and determined to defend our values, our history, and those who write our freedom with blood.
