Germany wants US rocket launchers to hit targets 2,000 kilometers away

“German may thus significantly increase its protective capacity, as well as significantly increase its preventative capacity, but also that of Europe”, Defence Minister Boris Pistorius said after a meeting with his colleague Pete Hegseth in Washington, writes foreign media, wiretale.

A decision on procurement of weapons has not been taken yet, but Pistorius has officially expressed his interest.

It was his first visit to Washington since US President Donald Trump and his Defence Secretary, Hegseth, took office in January.

After his meeting at the Pentagon, Pistorius reported as today's <x0 warnings” that Germany had begun the process of securing Typhoon's medium-range action weapon, which could be used to shoot long-range missiles like Tomahawk.

Bundeswehr still does not have such weapons with a range of 2,000 kilometers.

The relevant European systems are still under way, and according to Pistorius, they will not be available for at least seven to ten years. /Periscope/
