In KFOR's announcement it becomes known that such patrols ensure a visible and soothing presence on the ground, improve awareness of the situation and contribute directly to regional stability.
They are a fundamental part of KFOR's continued mission to provide a safe environment for all communities in Kosovo.
“KFOR continues to implement its mandate based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 in 1999 to contribute to a secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement at any time and impartially.
KFOR works in close co-ordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union's Mission for Law Rule in Kosovo (EULEX) in their respective roles as security responseors” is said in the statement.
