“Gasers in Gaza, trapped and hungry”: B BC, AP, AFP, Reuters call urgent Israel to open border

The BBC News, in co-operation with three of the largest international news agencies -- AP, AFP and Reuters -- has issued a joint urgent statement, urging Israel to allow journalists to enter and exit Gaza. “We are deeply concerned about our journalists in Gaza, who always [...]
“We are deeply concerned about our journalists in Gaza, who are increasingly facing the inability to feed themselves and their families. For months, these independent journalists have been the world's eyes and ears on Gaza soil. Now, they are facing the same terrible conditions as the people they report. Journalists have learned to work in extreme and dangerous conditions in war zones. But we are deeply alarmed that hunger has already become a real threat to them. We once again urge Israeli authorities to allow the free movement of journalists. It is vital that the food and aid necessary reach the civilian population,”, the BBC reports.
This statement by the BBC and other agencies comes at the same time when more than 100 humanitarian organisations have issued a similar statement this week, warning of massive urine throughout the Gaza Strip.
According to Israeli authorities, 150 aid trucks have been distributed inside Gaza by the UN and relevant agencies on Wednesday. However, it is said that about 800 other food trucks are still waiting to be seized, while agencies accuse the Israeli government of obstructing relief distribution./Periscopi/
