This expectation will find Kosovo at a sensitive moment, with still uncontained state institutions. In this context, the possibility of the event becoming an informal space for important political and diplomatic discussions is not ruled out.
It can be expected that Ambassador Guerot, through this event, will create an opportunity for dialogue between local and international representatives in an effort to help find a common way out of the current stalemate. In the absence of functional institutions, such symbolic meetings can serve as grounds for new initiatives, co-ordination and strategic decision-making.
If the presence of political leaders and foreign diplomats is used for more than just ceremonial anniversary, it remains to be seen.
However, in this period of political uncertainty, the French ambassador's expectations could take on a weight greater than usual a signal space and perhaps, for solutions.
