During the official reception organised on the occasion of the French National Festival in Kosovo, where representatives of Kosovo institutions and the international community were invited, Ambassador Guert stressed that to sign and ratify international agreements that are in the interest of Kosovo, the country needs a functional Assembly and a Government supported by that Parliament, the country follows. Periscope.
“I am very pleased and proud of the work done by the French Development Agency (AFD), which, in its 18 months in Kosovo, has already developed several very ambitious projects. Two memorandums of understanding have been signed between the AFD and the ministries. I look forward to finalising this work, which amounts to tens of millions of euros. This brings me to my second message, directed with the highest respect to the political leaders of Kosovo, this friendly country of France. To sign and ratify these agreements, we need a assembly and we need a government to support this assembly. The friendly governments with Kosovo, including the French government, need partners to move forward and support Kosovo on the road towards European integration. And European integration requires a relaxed dialogue by the EU. Let me appeal to all political leaders in this country, without exception, regardless of their party or the community they represent. A call for them to find their way to compromise, to find their way out of the stalemate with which no voters are satisfied. A call for them to find ways to ensure the comprehensive functioning of Kosovo institutions”, Guerot has declared.
He said France will continue to support Kosovo.
At this festive event, Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, with a video message, also appeared with the president of Kosovo who greeted the French people and reminded of the universal values of July 14th.
On the other hand, incumbent Prime Minister Albin Kurti has said that Kosovo has been and remains committed to EU membership.
