The Macron family said in a lawsuit filed at the Supreme Court of Delaware that Owens has developed a “global humiliation campaign” filled with lies to promote its podcast and win more fans, Reuters writes, broadcast Periscopi.
The Macron family said that lies included the fact that Brigitte Macron, 72, was born by the name Jean-Michel Trognaeus, the real name of her older brother.
In a joint statement issued by their lawyers, the Macrons said they filed charges after Owens rejected three demands that it withdraw the slanderous statements.
Wednesday's indictment is a rare case of a world leader who charges slander. /Periscope/
