Morin's border checkpoint, connecting Albania with Kosovo, is experiencing the most busy days of the tourist season.
From July 1st to July 17th 2025, 386,868 entrances and 409,595 citizens' exits have been processed, with over 250 thousand vehicles crossing the border in both directions.
This flow represents a new record compared to the past years, which includes: Pushers from Kosovo traveling towards the Albanian coast. Travelers from EU countries crossing transit to Albania towards Kosovo. Exiles returning to their homes on vacation. Seven job sports, divided according to tool categories, have been put into operation for coping with the flow.
With about 800 thousand citizens entering and out in the first two weeks of July alone, the Morina border checkpoint remains a vital artery of movement in the region. For border authorities, the challenge is daily: to ensure security and speed, while citizens require less expectations and more efficiency. Apart from Morina, the move has been taken at other border points under the auspices of the Kukes Law Directorate to cope with the high flow of summer season. /Periscopi/
