Great flooding in Texas: At least 24 dead and many missing from summer girls camp

According to county authorities Kerr, about 6 to 10 inches [6 - 10 inches] of rain (1550 m] fell within hours in the surrounding towns of Hunt and Ingram, causing rapid growth in the level of the Guadalupe River.
At one of the most critical points, the river rose by about 22 feet (6.7 m) for just 2 hours, while in another country, water rose by 26 feet (7.9 m) for 45 minutes, an extremely dangerous pace that left no time for evacuation.
Rescue teams have been in constant operation to search for people trapped or extinct. Officials said the flooding occurred at night, which made the situation even more dangerous because many people were asleep.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott expressed his condolences to the victims and ordered an announcement of the state of emergency for the affected area.
