“Flamur lara-lara, no army”: Kurt used to wonder why independence was being celebrated, now wishes the anniversary of the UN decision

Albin Kurti for four years was prime minister of the country to which he mocked the flag, did not respect the anthem, nor did he rejoice in the independence declared on February 17, 2008, and made Kosovo independent. Today, however, Kurti consumed all of this and estimated that the GND decision, 15 years ago “is an act of sealing Kosovo's independence”, writes Periscope.

On the most historic day of the country, Albin Kurti, along with Vetevendosje, had not enjoyed it at all in 2008.

For the party now ruling with the country, then February 17th of 2008 was “the mourning”>.

Kosovo's “Kosovo proclaims its independence ♫ Vetevendosje doesn't celebrate”, was the title of the newspaper “Koha Ditore”, which showed in detail how Vetevendosje did enjoy the big party.

For activists of the Vetevendosje Movement, Sunday has been a typical day. They have not celebrated, saying they have nothing to celebrate. According to them, Kosovo citizens are not knowing what they are celebrating”, said in this article published on February 18, 2008.

But, preparadically, three days before the historic day, Kurti in an interview in Rubik with the Adriatic Kelmendi “almont” citizens that it was not a day for Kosovo citizens to celebrate.

Kosovo's “People are awaiting independence, but I think a few more days we will understand that independence is called something that is essential is depending on”, he declared just three days before its proclamation, Kurt stated on February 17, 2008.

The Battle of Vetevendosje Movement against the February 17th 2008 Act would continue even when Kosovo daily was gaining international recognition, among them and powerful states, such as: The United States, Great Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Australia, Canada, and many others.

In Vetevendosje's archive, in most of the documents and statements it issued at the time oppose developments about independence and expressed distrust in the new reality.

To Albin Kurti and Vetevendosje Movement, the declaration of independence was a back development.

Kurti: Kosovo won't have army

Unlike former President Hashim Thaci, who was determined to form Kosovo's army - the head of VV) - Albin Kurti did not believe in something like that.

Kosovo will not have armies, we are not a normal state with full independence, these will not happen”, Kurti said.

“I am one of the KLA co-legators, signatory of the agreement in Rambouillet, signatory of the KLA transformation into the KPC, and I am fully convinced that, as has happened the transformation from the KLA to the KPC, the KPC will be Kosovo's next army”, Thaci had said.

Kurti did not respect the anthem, the Kosovo flag called it “lara-lara”

During a speech that once held in front of citizens, incumbent Prime Minister Albin Kurti called the Kosovo flag “lara-lara”.

“Never can we move forward with that wash-lara flag”, Kurti said with his high tone.

And during the activity in Mitrovica in 2018, Kurti was reluctant to respect Kosovo's anthem and had not even stood up.
