This pledge was made after the regional meeting held Tuesday in Skopje, where EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos met with leaders of the countries of the region.
“After a year of advancing reforms and intensive co-operation in areas such as finances, transport, digital connection and market integration, Commissioner Marta Kos and leaders made an assessment of the progress made so far. They also confirmed the determination to meet regularly to maintain the political momentum after implementing the” Plan, says the European Commission's announcement, where it becomes known that the next meeting will be held in the autumn.
The focus of the discussions was also 600 ambitious reforms that states must meet to benefit from the 6 billion-euro package under the Development Plan. So far, four countries -- Albania, Northern Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia -- have obtained pre-finance tools.
Meanwhile, Kosovo continues to lag behind in this process. The European Commission has called on Kosovo authorities to speed up procedures for implementing the Agreement on the Development Plan Instrument and the Agreement on Hua ʹ process requiring the constitutionalisation of the Kosovo Assembly.
Kosovo is expected to benefit about 60m euros if it meets the steps required by the EU./Periscopi/
