A Canadian-type fire fighting plane, coming from Italy, will engage in air operations to extinguish fires in the areas of Borsshi, Piceras and Lukova.
As Euronews Albania reports, the air vehicle is specialising for interventions in difficult and unattainable terrain from the ground, providing significant support for Albania's capacities.
Currently, Albania has only modified helicopters to handle fires, but not aircraft specialising for such missions.
The presence of Canada Air Force is expected to significantly improve response to the flames that have included some areas in the south.
Meanwhile, Air Force helicopters have also engaged in operations near the village of Zhula, in Gjirokastra County, as well as in the Qafe Bualli area of Bulqiza, where the situation follows remains problematic because of broken terrain and winds favouring the spread of flames. /Periscope/
