Mexico called “The unfair agreement” of Trump and insisted that its sovereignty is non-negotiable, while EU chief Ursula von der Leyen threatened to get “against proportional measures” if necessary.
The two sides said they want to continue negotiations with the US.
Trump has warned he will impose even higher taxes on imports if any of the US trade partners decide to retaliate.
