In England an average temperature of 16.9 degrees Celsius set a new record for the hottest temperature experienced in June, the BBC writes.
According to preliminary data, the Meteorological Office says the average temperature of 15.2 degrees Celsius across the United Kingdom was the second highest ever recorded for June.
The Meteorological Office adds: “The average daily temperature was also well above the long-term weather average for June, with England registering its third highest temperature and United Kingdom recording its sixth highest temperature since 1884. ” /Periscopi/
