Shkodra has recently bid Arben Anamal, captain of the tourist ship who lost his life in an effort to save Israeli tourists endangered in Lake Shkodra.
The 50-year-old captain, the father of two children, jumped into the water to help tourists, saving them with rescue vests.
After their salvation, Arben Anamal did not return to the ship, and his body was found after three days of searching.
For his heroic act, the Albanian government named Arben Anamalin “Witness of Homeland”, honouring him as an extraordinary example of humanity. Relatives hope his name will be preserved in every Albanian's memory. /Periscope/
