The deputy chairman of the KLA War Veterans' Organisation, Gazmend Syla, has said the recently arrested person in Serbia does not figure on any of the official veterans' lists, and is not recognised by any former soldier in the area where he allegedly acted during the war.
Syla confirmed this for RTK.
Deuting the news, he has stressed that the person in question was not part of the known KLA structures.
The “does not figure on any of the lists, but is neither recognised by any former soldier in the area where it allegedly was at war”, he said.
Serbian media have reported yesterday on the arrest of a former KLA soldier in Serbia. According to these media, former Kosovo Liberation Army fighter L.H. has been arrested Tuesday in Serbia's town of Svilajnac.
According to reports, 59-year-old Peja has been assigned the 48-hour ban by the War Crimes Prosecutor's Office in Serbia, under suspicion of “crimes against humanity and war crimes” committed during the war in Kosovo.
“He was arrested because of suspicions that he committed crimes against humanity and war crimes on Kosovo territory”, Serbian media have reported. / RTK
