“How did we degrade democracy? Why did this happen? Did we collectively fail to defend democracy? And why couldn't anyone stop it? The last session of the Kosovo Assembly was held in December 2024. Since then, the country has been without a Parliament and a government in office. More than 9 months without representation, no new laws, no parliamentary supervision, no control over the government. Even a government in office that leads beyond the legal and constitutional mandate” has written.
According to him, the Speaker of the Parliament, led by the greater party's will, refused to allow normal functioning of hearings after failings to elect the chairman. By violating the regulation, he denied MPs the right to exercise their mandate.
The president took several institutional steps, including efforts to mediate through meetings with political parties, but these did not bring any concrete progress.
