According to the police, immediately after receiving the information, police units and firefighters have come to the scene to locate the fire.
Due to the great size and proximity of the religious object and civilian residences, superiors of the South Mitrovica Regional Police Directorate and Police Station in Skenderaj have also been exiled on the ground.
Special Operations Unit (NJSO) and KFOR members, who have provided water cannon and helicopter assistance to extinguish the flames, have also been engaged in managing the situation. This cooperation has helped to prevent the involvement of monasteries and houses by fire.
“Fireworks, police and KFOR have been engaged all night and day to fully locate the fire,”, the police report said.
Meanwhile, the Police Investigation Unit in Skenderaj has started collecting evidence. According to the person responsible for the Davis Monastery, the fire was allegedly caused by power wires as a result of strong winds that swept the area the day before./Periscopi/
