Cos returns to Camber for applying addresses: We've asked Serbia to explain if it's targeting south

Albanian MP in Serbia's Parliament, Shaip Kamberi, has announced he has received yet another response from EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos on the issue of dealing with minorities, including Albanians, from the Serbian state. “Valley Albanians are receiving ever greater attention in Brussels institutions! Valley Albanians are receiving ever greater attention in Brussels institutions! Marta Kos, European Union Commissioner for Enlargement, through a letter sent, ensures that the EU is closely forwarding the treatment of minorities and their position in Serbia and confirms that Chapter 23 is important for the journey of Serbia towards the EU”, Kamberi has written.
In response, Kos said and assured Camber that the “Commission is closely following the treatment of persons belonging to national minorities, including the situation of the Albanian community in Serbia, also in the context of commitments made by Serbia under EU membership negotiations”.
Meanwhile, for prompting addresses, Kos said he has asked Serbian authorities to explain how this process is taking place and whether the target is south of Serbia where Albanians live.
We have highlighted in our 2024 Enlargement Package report for Serbia the need for authorities to better explain to the public how residence status verifications are being carried out, which is resulting in the disincentive of certain addresses and if Serbia's south is particularly targeted”, the Kos response is said. /Periscope/
