In a country where construction grows daily, the security of those hands that build these walls is often forgotten.
This is shown by the conditions of the workshop where these people lived. Periscope.
Last week, July 21st, when two workers in Gjakova lost their lives, two persons responsible for the construction were arrested in connection with the failure to offer basic security conditions at the workplace. That same day, a worker in Istog died. The next day, one in Skenderaj.
The tragedy continued on July 27th, where another worker died in Ferizaj after falling from a crane.
All the cases, they had one in common, the lack of security in the workshop.
And according to job safety experts, the finger is first directed by the head of the workshop.
“is to be upset and worried. All this is coming from employers' carelessness, the Inspectorate cannot stop them. They have to be conscious, they don't share any budgets for a person inside the company to make sure of the workers' health, equipment. As a result of their neglect, these cases will increase”, said security expert and working health, Naim Bajraktari.
But according to Bajraktari, the institution's poor monitoring remains responsible for handling security at work.
“Inspectorate has its own work, they have neglect to measure it. Controls are so scarce, so weak that even employers do as they do, as the amullia that is taking place in Kosovo because of not creating institutions has given them a freedom not to think there is no control. The sentences don't say they're small, but they don't get them, they don't set them up, we don't get them deserved sentences. We've witnessed, no one took responsibility for lost lives”, Bajraktari added.
Worried about the situation are expressed by the Independent Union of Private Sector Workers, who, by the institutions, direct their finger.
Whatever's worst, these deaths are normal for company owners and power. After many demands for state institutions to sit down and talk about these cases, the power has chosen ignoring the union requirements where we requested that in such cases what is at least capable of a solid pension for these families, because even the children of these families have the right to the minimum existence of their”, Yusuf Azemi has said.
