The Democratic Party of Kosovo and the Vetevendosje Movement have warned that they will be addressed with new demands on the Constitutional Court, following the publication of the bias regarding the blockade now established three months in the Kosovo Assembly.
Initially, Mimoza Kusari-Lila of VV on Tuesday said that “needed an address of the constitutional one even in terms of non-participation by opposition parties”.
So she added that they are preparing to address the Court:
We don't have the same reading of the Constitutional Court act, it's clear that it hasn't clarified, but it has complicated the case such an interpretation, while the third objective is also necessary to address the court in the current situation already in non-participation by opposition parties. Voting in session is a duty. We are preparing to head to the court for failing to allow opposition deputies to participate in the vote”.
On the other hand, PDK MP Vlora Citaku has also said that they are collecting signatures and that they will seek to understand the consequences of MPs' inaction.
“We will take steps within these days, we have prepared the subject, signatures we are collecting, and we will have a new request for clarification on the part of the Constitutional Court, although for us it is very clear but we will try to understand more clearly what the consequences of an act on the part of MPs. There would have to be a consequence for disobeying the constitutional act. So we're going to ask for clarification on what the consequences are for the MP or MP who does not respect the Constitutional Court's justice” she said.
On the other hand, Citaku has said that Constitutional decisions “are not Swedish desks, choosing to apply only what he likes”.
I don't want to speculate, we like the PDK have tried to respect the integrity of independent institutions because we have built them together with much effort and sacrifice. It's been that we've ever been disgruntled by the decisions the Constitutional Court has made, but its decisions are not a Swedish table where we select and apply only what we like and put aside what we don't like” she said in “Rubicon”.
We note that last week, the Constitutional Court issued a verdict Thursday afternoon following the opposition's request for clarification regarding the secret vote, where, among other things, political subjects have been obliged for 30 days to constitutionalise the Assembly, though it is not clarified what happens next./Periscopi/
