Border police at the Morina border checkpoint have arrested a Turkish national declared in international search by Turkish authorities, as a result of increased controls for preventing lawlessness and illegal movements.
The detainee is Tahsin Yazici, 22, resident of Turkey, who has been detained at the entrance of Albania from Kosovo.
According to verifications, he was declared on the run by Interpol Ankara after the First Stairs Court in Gaziosmanpasa, Turkey, sentenced him to 4 years and 2 months in prison for criminal work “illegal possession of fire weapons”.
His arrest was carried out by Border Police services in co-operation with the local Kukes Police Directorate, while Interpol Tirana has launched procedures to extradite the young man to Turkey./Periscopi/
