Canada will recognise the Palestinian state in September, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has declared reporters Wednesday, reports CNN.
“Canada has always been committed to a two-state solution. A Palestinian independent, stable and sovereign state that lives alongside the state of Israel in peace and security”, Carney, accompanied by Foreign Minister Anita Anand, said.
This decision comes after similar reports from France, which has declared it will recognise the Palestinian state in September, and from the United Kingdom, which has said it will do so if Israel does not meet certain conditions, including a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
