Kosovo's Special Prosecutor has announced that he has filed charges with incumbent Regional Development Minister Fikrim Damka and Secretary of the Ministry Besim Camberaj for criminal work “The use of official position or authority”.
Through a report by the Special Prosecutor, F.D. -- in the quality of the Regional Development Ministry, and B.K. -- in the quality of the secretary's office assistant -- is charged with that, from the 1608.2021 to 24,03.2022 -- overstepped their legal competencies with the purpose of benefiting the two non-governmental organisations, <x0Germin<1x> and <x>Carias Zvicerano-3-3>.
According to the indictment, the defendants, acting contrary to the Law on International Agreements and the Public Finance Procedures of NGOs, and contrary to the ministry's competencies, have exceeded the limits of the possibility of funding NGOs from public funds, financing organisations mentioned without public calling.
There is a well-based suspicion that defendants have caused damage to the Republic of Kosovo's budget in value of 1,40,000 euros”, Periscope reported.
The Special Prosecutor has proposed to the Pristina Constitutional Court that, after completing the trial, the defendants be found guilty and sentenced to fines and sentences to effective prison, as only with these types of sentences will the initial goal of Article 38 of the Republic of Kosovo's Penal Code be achieved. /Periscopi
