Turkish President Recep Tayip Erdogan posted a video message on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica.
“Although 30 years have passed by the genocide in Srebrenica, the pain for our Bosnian brothers and sisters is still fresh. The fact that the international community did not assume the responsibility to prevent genocide is a concession that will be remembered as shame”, the Turkish president said.
As he stated, the essence of Turkey's continued call for reforming the United Nations is the fight against that consciousness embedded in the <x0th saying, let a thousand years of snake not biting me”.
In this war, the words of the late Alija Izetbegovic continue to illuminate our way: Whatever you do, do not forget genocide, because a genocide that has been forgotten will be repeated”, Erdogan said, reports Telegraph, broadcast Periscope.
He believes that the adoption of the Resolution for Srebrenica represents a strong reflection of will in the fight against genocide.
“What is happening in Gaza is proof that the international community has not issued the necessary messages from Srebrenica. The international community has silented for Srebrenica”, the Turkish president added.
One of his messages is that the Israeli government will sooner or later respond to law and history.
No one doubts our unconditional support. Turkey will continue to fulfill its responsibility to maintain peace, security and stability”, Erdogan concluded. /Periscope
