Former prosecutor Elez Blakaj has reacted after the condemned act of the Constitutional Court in Pristina on the “Veterians” case, charging that the process has been diverted through deliberate manipulation and misinterpretation of the law.
The Constitutional Court on 14 July sentenced 10 of the 12 accused to one year in prison in the case of “Veterians”, which were part of the Government Commission for the recognition and Verification of the KLA Veterans Status.
In a Facebook status, the former prosecutor who first dealt with the veterans' case has ironed out, saying Apel will bring the case back to retrial.
“After nearly 7 years, the Constitutional Court in Pristina has ruled in the veterans' case. For those who have cheated, lied, slandered, and for those who have put their hands on the occasion, don't be greedy, because Apel turns the case back into retrial!
He stressed that at the centre of this deviation lies the misuse of the term “vetran”, which is being used generally to create confusion in public opinion. According to him, the law is clear and accurately stipulates that only two categories have the right to pay/aggression: the KLA war invalid and the KLA fighter veteran.
Blackaj refers to Article 3 of Law No. 04/L-261, which defines all categories of veterans, disableds and fighters, to exiles and participants in logistical support. However, he stresses that only two of these categories benefit pensions, while others have other priorities, but not fair financial ones.
This payment/mission has been the turning point where the process has seriously deviated. Defineation and classification is 100% product The Government Commission for Recognition and Verification of the Status of Vetran of the KLA, which in later stages implemented this law under the will of”, wrote Blakaj.
According to him, voters and defenders of illegal beneficiaries use the term <x0vetran” in public debates not to divide categories and to conceal budget abuses and the honour of war.
So says the law ʹ and the rest are desires... and before the law was made, said this Commission, which later repented... but it was late”, it ended.
Blakaj was the prosecutor who in 2018 had been involved in investigating the large number of war veterans. That same year, he had resigned. He later discovered that he had resigned because of threats.
The Foundation Court had issued a clear decision on the case “Venters” in 2021. But Apel had turned the case into retrial. /Periscope/
