During his daylong visit to Northern Macedonia, Republic of Albania President Bajram Begaj held a special meeting with Democratic Union for Integration leader Ali Ahmeti.
In a post on social networks, President Begaj praised the role of Albanians in neighbouring country's political life and shared his appreciation for Ahmeti's contribution to the process.
With Ali Ahmeti, it is always a pleasure to meet and share thoughts. Albanians in northern Macedonia are the crucial statehood and staunch supporters of the country's Euro-Atlantic road, ever testifying to the commitment to peace, stability, co-existence and democratic values, Serbian President Begaj wrote.
The meeting with DUI leader was held during the Albanian president's working visit to Ohrid, where one day earlier he was hosted by Northern Macedonia President Gordana Silanovska-David.
At the centre of this visit were relations between the two countries, European integration and promoting joint projects between the two peoples.
In his message, President Begaj stressed the unifying role of Albanians in northern Macedonia, naming them a bridge and a guarantee of common progress in the region./Periscopi/
